New Delhi: Wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat, who have been staging a sit-in against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for nearly a month, have returned to their jobs in the railways. However, Sakshi Malik has categorically denied the news of the wrestlers withdrawing from the movement. Sakshi says that Along with the performance, I am fulfilling my responsibility in the railways.
In fact, in some reports, there were reports that Sakshi Malik has withdrawn from the wrestlers movement. However, Sakshi Malik has termed these reports as false. She tweeted, 'None of us has backed down and will not back down in the fight for justice.' Earlier, Sakshi Malik's husband Satyavrat Kadian had also dismissed reports of her withdrawing from the movement as fake.
In fact, some wrestlers led by Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia had opened a front against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who had been protesting at Jantar Mantar since April 23. The wrestlers had accused Brij Bhushan Sharan of sexual harassment. After which the Delhi Police had registered two FIRs against Brij Bhushan Singh, the first FIR is related to the allegations made by the minor. A case has been registered under the POCSO Act. The second FIR pertains to allegations of sexual harassment levelled by other wrestlers. Delhi Police is investigating these cases in different states of the country.
