Lucknow: Judge Mumtaz Ali of the special POCSO court at Kairana in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district on Saturday (30 October 2021) convicted a man who raped a 5-year-old girl and sentenced her to life imprisonment. The great thing is that the court heard the matter in just four months and sentenced the guilty.
The 5-year-old deaf and dumb innocent girl was reportedly raped by a man named Sabir on the Rampur Maniharan railway platform in Kairana in Shamli district four months ago. Sabir was also fined Rs 50,000 after Justice Mumtaz Ali convicted him under Section 376 (Rape) of IPC and POCSO Act under the protection of children from Sexual Offences (POCSO). Half of the amount will be given to the victim. In the case, POCSO special advocate Pushpendra Malik said that the girl is a resident of Shamli. He said that on June 15, a 5-year-old deaf and dumb girl had gone missing in a crowd at Rampur Maniharan railway station. Sabir raped her on the Rampur Maniharan railway platform after finding her alone after being separated from her parents. The accused then fled from there.
Government Railway Police (GRP) registered a report in the case under sections of rape on the complaint of a tea shop operator on a railway platform. The railway police later arrested the accused Sabir and produced him before the court. The court then sentenced him on Saturday. However, Sabir has not admitted his crime in court.
