The Indian Coast Guard has appointed S Paramesh as its new Director General, effective Tuesday, October 15. Paramesh, who had been serving as the acting chief following the sudden passing of his predecessor Rakesh Pal, officially assumed his role on Monday.

Following this, he took on the role of Additional Director General of the Coast Guard, further cementing his leadership in the maritime defense force.
