Jaipur: Undisclosed income of about Rs 50 crore has been seized after 24 hours in the raids being conducted by the investigation wing of the Income Tax Department in Bikaner and Nokha in Rajasthan. On the second day of the raid i.e. on Friday (November 4), lockers of various banks of the concerned businessmen were opened, in which unnamed income of about Rs 50 crore has been revealed.

Along with undisclosed income, books related to property, money laundering and unnamed accounts have also been found in the locker. He could not respond to queries posed by income tax officials to the businessmen concerned regarding undisclosed income and property-related documents. Income Tax officials are now engaged in further investigation into the documents found in the bank locker and undisclosed income. A team of about 250 officials of the investigation branch had started raids on Friday against Bikaner Beopar Udyog Mandal chief Jugal Rathi, his relative Pintu Rathi, garments and property businessman city Youth Congress president Dhanpat Chail and his three brothers, along with Guar-gum and dal traders Srinivas Jhanwar, Hanuman Jhanwar and Brijratan Tapadia of Nokha on Thursday.

The income tax department is expected to seize undisclosed income of about Rs 100 crore in Bikaner and Nokha. Till late Friday night, the team of officials was conducting search operations at more than 40 locations of businessmen associated with them. Income Tax Department Director Sudhanshu Jha, Additional Director Karanidan and Assistant Director of Income Tax Arvind Meena were taking feedback regarding the inputs received at the locations of the concerned businessmen till late at night.
