Jaipur: Police on Friday arrested a 23-year-old choreographer from Delhi for allegedly raping a student in her school toilet in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, four years ago. According to the police officer, the accused has been identified as Sanam Gill and is a resident of Nepal. Gill works as a choreographer and gym trainer in Delhi, while his family lives in Jodhpur, he said. According to the official, the incident took place in February 2018, when Gill was tasked with training children to give a cultural performance at the school's annual festival. He said the victim was only five years old at the time of the incident.
According to the officer, the victim's mother came to know about the incident three days ago when she was telling her about the difference between good and bad touch at home. She said that during this time, the girl told her mother about the rape that took place with her in school four years ago. According to the officer, the stunned mother took her daughter to the doctor, where her sonography examination was done, the report of which confirmed the rape of her. She said the victim's mother then lodged a complaint against the accused choreographer. Assistant Commissioner of Police Nishant Bhardwaj, who is investigating the case, said the accused had settled in Delhi about a month ago as his work in Rajasthan was affected due to the Corona pandemic.
"During a training session on February 26, 2018, Gill followed the victim to the toilet and raped her there. He threatened the victim not to tell anyone about the incident. According to Bhardwaj, the frightened child informed her mother about it a few days ago, who was explaining to her the difference between good and bad touch. He said that on the complaint of the victim's mother, the police started investigating the case and arrested the accused from Delhi.
