JAIPUR: Another Jain monk laid down his life yesterday (January 5) at a Jain temple in Jaipur for Sammed Shikharji, the holy pilgrimage center of the Jain community. Within 4 days, another saint sacrificed his life while sitting on fast. Earlier on Tuesday (January 3), a Jain monk had sacrificed his body during the 9-day protest. According to reports, Muni Samarth Sagar was on fast unto death for about 3 days at Sanghiji Digambar Jain Temple, Sanganer, Jaipur. He breathed his last around 1.20 pm on Thursday late night.

Today i.e. on Friday (January 6) morning, as soon as people came to know about this, they started reaching the temple. After this Saint Muni Sagar's Dol Yatra was taken out from Sanghiji Mangir to Vidyanagar and then he was given Samadhi with Jain customs. After hearing the news of Muni Sagar's death, Jain saints were seen saying that until the Jharkhand government declares Sammed Shikhar as a place of pilgrimage, Muni will continue to offer such sacrifices. The sacrifice of Muni Samarth Sagar will always be remembered. Saint Muni Sagar was given Samadhi in the presence of his Guru Acharya Sunil Sagar Maharaj.

Meanwhile, Acharya Sunil Sagar has said that many senior BJP officials had reached Muni Samarth Sagar Maharaj on Thursday, but they only said that their fast will continue till the Jharkhand government clarifies its decision. During this fast, they had given up food and water. Earlier, Jain monk Sugyesagar Maharaj had sacrificed for Sammed Shikhar on Tuesday (January 3). Regarding which Acharya Shashank Sagar Maharaj has said that 2 sages in Jaipur have sacrificed their lives to save Sammed Shikhar. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot should at least come here and support the Jain community.

Let us tell you that the tourism and eco-tourism activity at the Jain pilgrimage place located in Giridih, Jharkhand has been stopped by the central government. After the decision of the Center, now the Jain community is waiting for the decision of the Jharkhand government. Today, a silent procession was to be taken out on behalf of the entire Jain community, which has been postponed for the time being.
