Jaipur: The case of mob lynching in Rajasthan has come to light. Two youths were thrashed by villagers on suspicion of cow smuggling here. One youth died while the other is undergoing treatment. Police have named 19 people in the case, out of which 9 have been arrested.
The case pertains to Bilkhanda village under Chittorgarh district where mob lynching has been reported on suspicion of cow smuggling. It is alleged that two youths were carrying cattle in the pickup. Both the youths belonged to the Bhil caste. When the villagers suspected cow smuggling, they stopped the pickup, but seeing the crowd, the two youths started running away with the pickup. The villagers later chased and caught the youths and thrashed them badly.
A young man, Pintu, was killed in the beating of villagers. While, another youth Babu has been admitted to a hospital in Chittorgarh where he is undergoing treatment. Babu claims that he was taking the bovine for farming purposes. Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhargava, who reached the spot, said 19 people have been named in the case, out of which 9 accused have been arrested. On the other hand, IG Satyavir Singh says strict action will be taken against those found guilty in the incident.
