Jaipur: The prices of beer in Rajasthan are likely to come down in the coming days. Because the Gehlot government in the state has abolished the Covid surcharge on all kinds of excise products. The government has recently announced a new advisory policy for the years 2022-23 and 2023-2024 on February 5. In the new excise policy, the Government has given a number of exemptions.
The new excise policy will include edp/edp of beer, country liquor, Rajasthan made liquors. There is a substantial increase in EBP and a reduction in bottling fees. The impact of which will also be seen on beer prices. The price of beer in the state is expected to come down in the coming days. The government has also reduced the MRP of mild beer. In the new excise policy, the Congress government in the state has also reduced the MRP of mild beer.
The retailer's margin has been determined based on the EDP in beer. Beer growers have introduced a waiver of bottling fees for more than 70 per cent of their production capacity and additional bottling fees for less than 60 per cent of their production capacity. The state government has made pos and billing mandatory at liquor shops to curb any kind of disturbances.
