Rajasthan's Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot, delivered a deeply emotional appeal to voters as the state gears up for the imminent assembly elections. In a heartfelt plea, he urged constituents to perceive him as a candidate running across all 200 seats, stressing the significance of his image over the impact of local contenders.
"I implore you to envision me contesting from each of these 200 seats," Gehlot expressed passionately. "While there are numerous candidates in the running, I cannot physically campaign in every location. Hence, I appeal to everyone to imagine that I am contesting from all these seats. I beseech you to reinstate this government. It's not necessary to focus solely on the local candidates," he added.
Underlining the pivotal need to continue the present government, Gehlot accentuated the accomplishments during his tenure. He highlighted the fulfillment of ten guarantees and pledged an additional seven guarantees if re-elected. "The policies and regulations introduced during my tenure have left a profound impact. We are now proposing seven more assurances, which have been widely embraced," Gehlot remarked.
Meanwhile, the Congress, spearheaded by Mallikarjun Kharge, unveiled its manifesto, vowing a caste-based census, a novel scheme for recruitment at the panchayat level, and legislation to enforce the minimum support price for farmers, among other commitments.
Rajasthan is poised for assembly polls on November 25, with the vote count scheduled for December 3. Out of the 200 assembly seats, elections for 199 will be conducted, as the Karanpur constituency's elections were postponed following the demise of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar. In the 2018 elections, Congress secured 99 seats while the BJP claimed 73. Gehlot assumed the CM position with the support of BSP MLAs and Independents.
