Rajasthan's Finance Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, Diya Kumari, presented the state budget today, unveiling four significant initiatives aimed at promoting solar energy across the state.
The key announcements include the introduction of Energy Express Home Reforms and the establishment of model solar villages in each district of Rajasthan. Additionally, the budget proposes the construction of a 2 MW decentralized solar plant.
In a bold move towards sustainability, Diya Kumari also declared that all government offices in Rajasthan will be transitioned to solar energy.
Speaking earlier this week, Finance Minister Diya Kumari emphasized the inclusivity of the budget, stating, "With a dual leadership in the state, we aim to meet the expectations of our people. This budget reflects substantial progress with major announcements benefiting all sectors."
The Rajasthan Budget arrives amidst political shifts following the BJP's loss of 11 out of 25 seats in recent Lok Sabha elections. The upcoming by-elections to five seats further underscore the strategic timing of these announcements.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Minister Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary highlighted additional environmental initiatives in the pipeline. "Legislation will be introduced to mandate water recycling at specified ratios and ensure sewage treatment for cleaning purposes," he announced. Choudhary also outlined plans for public awareness campaigns and the planting of 7 crore trees, aligning with CM Bhajan Lal Sharma's environmental targets.
The state budget announcement included several key initiatives aimed at development and reform in Rajasthan. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, amidst opposition uproar, outlined the government's ambitious plans.
Notably, the budget proposes electricity connections for 2 lakh households, allocates Rs 100 crore for a corridor at the Khatu Shyam temple, and establishes the Rajasthan Tourism Development Board.
In a significant move, Diya Kumari announced the construction of nine new expressways across the state, marking a substantial infrastructure expansion. Additionally, meritorious school students will receive free tablets with internet access, enhancing educational opportunities.
Addressing concerns raised by the opposition, Kumari affirmed the government's commitment to implementing ten resolutions aimed at propelling Rajasthan towards becoming a USD 350 billion economy. These resolutions prioritize infrastructure development in water, electricity, and roads, urban planning initiatives, and support for agricultural empowerment.
Highlighting governance reforms, Kumari emphasized measures to prevent paper leaks, a problem inherited from the previous administration. She noted decisive actions against criminal elements, resulting in over 100 arrests.
The budget reflects the government's proactive stance on economic growth, infrastructure enhancement, and governance transparency, setting a comprehensive agenda for Rajasthan's development trajectory.
These initiatives signal Rajasthan's commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship, positioning the state as a leader in renewable energy adoption and conservation efforts.
