Jaipur: A wife strangled her husband to death following a dispute in Rajasthan's border Barmer district. On getting information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and took possession of the body. The incident took place in Barmer town. City Kotwal Ugamraj Soni has informed that the deceased has been identified as Anil Kumar, aged 32 years. Kotwal said that the wife of the deceased, Manju, is being interrogated in custody.

Police said that there were quarrels between the husband and wife for a long time. It was reported that the wife of the deceased used to quarrel with her husband due to his low earnings. Police said that after the fight, the wife first gave sleeping pills to her husband, which made him unconscious, then strangulated him to death with a belt. Police said both were habitual drunkards.

The mother of the deceased has filed a case in this regard. She told the police that she heard the sound of his daughter-in-law crying loudly late last night after which when she reached the room, she saw her son lying down and his wife was crying loudly. Police said that after the incident, neighbours also reached the house and took Anil to the hospital, but by then he had died. It was reported that injury marks were also found on the body of the deceased.
