Jaipur: The Ashok Gehlot government has accepted the demands of the family protesting since the priest burnt alive in the Karauli district of Rajasthan. It is reported that the Gehlot government is asking the aggrieved family to give Rs 10 lakh, a house of Rs 1.5 lakh under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and a government job to a member. Not only that, but an SIT will also be set up to investigate the case.
It may be noted that the family of priests had refused the funeral of the body on Saturday, after which the administration was constantly engaged in persuading the family to end the protest. The governor spoke to CM Ashok Gehlot about the law and order of the state after the incident of burning the priest alive. In the meantime, CM Gehlot had assured that the case is under investigation and the culprits will not be spared at all.
On the other hand, the resentment among the people is at the peak since the priest was burnt alive in the Potarra area of Karauli. The family has refused to perform the funeral and has placed some demands before the Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan. The family says they will not perform the funeral of the body unless the demands are fulfilled. The main accused in the case has been taken to custody by the police.
