New Delhi: During a public rally in Hyderabad following the unveiling of the Congress's manifesto, Rahul Gandhi declared the party's intention to conduct a comprehensive financial and institutional survey to analyze the distribution of wealth among the populace if the party assumes power.

Gandhi emphasized that this survey would complement the nationwide caste census promised by the party, aimed at identifying the demographic composition of groups such as the Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and minorities. He underscored the significance of both initiatives in understanding and addressing societal disparities.

Asserting the party's commitment to ensuring equitable representation across all sectors, Gandhi vowed to allocate resources to uphold the rightful share of every community.

Highlighting the overwhelming presence of SCs, STs, OBCs, and minorities, Gandhi lamented their underrepresentation in employment opportunities despite constituting 90% of the population.

Drawing attention to the imbalance in administrative roles, Gandhi pointed out the disproportionate representation of these communities among the 90 IAS officers overseeing the country's administration.

The Congress's recently released manifesto, centered on the five 'pillars of justice,' prioritizes initiatives such as the caste census and other measures aimed at bolstering OBC representation.

As Telangana prepares for its upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled for May 13, with 17 seats up for grabs, the Congress's agenda for social equity and inclusion remains a central theme. Vote counting is slated for June 4.
