New Delhi: In the lead-up to the G20 Summit scheduled in New Delhi from September 9 to 10, pro-Khalistan slogans have been discovered scrawled on the walls of at least five Delhi Metro stations, raising concerns over security and law and order. The G20 summit is expected to witness the participation of more than 30 heads of state, along with senior officials from the European Union, invited guest countries, and representatives of 14 international organizations.

A Delhi Metro Rail Corporation official, in response to the situation, expressed cooperation with the Delhi Police to address the emerging law and order issue. Authorities have registered a case and initiated an investigation, utilizing CCTV footage to gather leads and identify potential culprits responsible for the defacement. Reports suggest that the "Sikhs For Justice" (SFJ) group released raw footage showcasing the pro-Khalistan slogans found on the Delhi Metro station walls. According to the Delhi Police, suspected activists associated with SFJ are believed to be responsible for defacing multiple Metro stations, ranging from Shivaji Park to Punjabi Bagh.

With the G20 summit on the horizon, the Delhi Police are taking proactive measures, including closely monitoring social media platforms to counteract the spread of rumors and incendiary content. Efforts are also being directed towards identifying potential criminal elements and bolstering security at critical locations such as malls, markets, and religious sites across the city. To ensure heightened security, all entry points into the national capital are slated to be sealed off to prevent unauthorized access. However, regular vehicular and public movement within the city will continue without interruption, as stated by the Delhi Police.

In anticipation of potential medical emergencies during the summit, preparations include the deployment of 80 medical teams and 130 ambulances on standby. A recent review meeting chaired by Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena revealed that 60 deputy commissioners of police (DCPs) have been assigned specific responsibilities pertaining to the G20 summit's security and coordination.
