New Delhi: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra voiced her strong condemnation of the tragic loss of innocent lives in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, which has now reached its 22nd day.
Taking to social media, Gandhi Vadra shared her sentiments, stating, "Despite the loss of 7,000 lives in Gaza, the cycle of violence and bloodshed persists. Among these casualties, a heartbreaking 3,000 were innocent children."
She further alleged that numerous international laws have been disregarded during this conflict, emphasizing, "There appears to be no international law that remains unbroken, no sense of dignity left unviolated, and no rule unflouted. When will humanity awaken? How many lives must be sacrificed, how many children lost, before we rekindle our shared humanity? Does the concept of being human still exist, if it ever did?"
Earlier, on October 18, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, as a woman and a mother, expressed her deep dismay at the world's response to these crimes. "The bombardment of hospitals, the tragic loss of children, and the blockade of essential supplies like food, water, and medicine to civilians – there are no words strong enough to denounce the horrors unfolding in Gaza."
"As a woman, a mother, and a human being, I am profoundly ashamed that the world is permitting these crimes to be committed with impunity," she added.
The Israel-Hamas conflict, which ignited on October 7, has now extended into its 21st day. Tragically, this confrontation has resulted in over 1,400 casualties, with Hamas's attacks on Israel responsible for some of these losses.
According to Palestinian authorities, more than 7,000 individuals have lost their lives due to Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, enacted in retaliation to Hamas's attacks on October 7.
Meanwhile, as the Israel-Hamas conflict reaches a critical juncture, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have conducted airstrikes on Hamas terrorist targets within the last 24 hours. IDF ground troops, fighter jets, and UAVs successfully targeted anti-tank missile launch sites, as well as command and control centers used by Hamas operatives. Importantly, these operations concluded without reporting any injuries, as confirmed by the IDF.
Additionally, the IDF shared that infantry, armored, and engineering forces, accompanied by helicopter gunships from the Israel Air Force, conducted a raid in the heart of the Gaza Strip on Thursday. As part of this mission, IDF aircraft and artillery targeted Hamas locations in the Sajaya neighborhood and throughout the Gaza Strip.
The situation in the region remains extremely tense, and the international community closely watches as efforts continue to address the ongoing conflict and bring relief to the affected populations.
