Nizamabad: Preventive measures need to be taken to contain the spread of infection due to bad weather, District Collector Narayan Reddy told officials during a review meeting at the Collectorate on Wednesday. He said that a two-day health awareness program should be conducted in the month of September. The infection is likely to spread due to heavy rains and floods and said preventive measures need to be taken to contain the spread of the infection due to inclement weather.The collector asked the officials to immediately clear the water accumulated on the roads and said that the debris should also be cleared. Similarly, Narayana Reddy directed the officials to identify and repair the pipes under Mission Bhagiratha as there is a possibility of contamination of drinking water.
 
Instructed the District Panchayat Officer, MPDO and Municipal Corporation officials to chlorinate the water tanks and supply clean drinking water to the people. And said that a special drive should be carried out by all the Gram Panchayats within two days to ensure complete sanitation programs in the Municipalities.

The Collector instructed to get the temporary repair work done after identifying the Gram Panchayat, Municipality, Panchayati Raj, R&B roads which were damaged due to rain. The collector asked the panchayats and municipalities to spend less than Rs 50,000 on repairs and submit a proposal to the district administration if the additional expenditure is incurred. The Collector directed the engineering officers to put up accident prone warning boards to prevent accidents where the roads are damaged. In the review meeting, Additional Collector Chandrashekhar, in-charge Municipal Commissioner / Additional Collector of local body Chitra Mishra, District Panchayat Officer Jayasudha, Engineering Officer and others participated in the review meeting.
