PUNE: President Droupadi Murmu led a momentous event at the National Defence Academy (NDA) Passing out Parade held in Pune. This significant occasion marked a historic milestone as the inaugural batch of female cadets, currently in their second year of rigorous training at NDA in Khadakwasla Pune, proudly marched alongside their male counterparts in the academy's passing-out parade. Approximately fifteen women took part in this momentous march.
In her address to the audience, President Murmu commended the women cadets for their participation in the marching contingent. "I have been informed that training for female cadets commenced in 2022, and today, we witness some of these exceptional cadets as part of the marching contingent. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to them and firmly believe they will elevate the reputation of our nation and the NDA to unprecedented heights," she stated.
President Droupadi Murmu is currently undertaking a four-day visit to Maharashtra. Her itinerary includes inaugurating the centenary year celebrations of Kaivalyadhama at Lonavala, Maharashtra, which took place on Wednesday.
On Friday, the President is scheduled to present the President's Colour to the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, and virtually inaugurate the Armed Forces Centre for Computational Medicine 'Prajna'.
The President will also preside over the 111th convocation of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University at Nagpur on Saturday.
