President Murmu highlights on need for digital literacy in India

HYDERABAD: India President Draupadi Murmu has emphasised the need for digital literacy in the country. The President recalled that at a recent meeting with Google Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai. 

Murmu stressed the need for digital literacy in the country as everyone uses mobile phones and with the internet, unlimited people are using technology like never before. Murmu wanted the same to be put to better use like for digital literacy.

Speaking to the students of G Natayanamma Institute of Science and Technology on the occasion of its 25th year anniversary today in Hyderabad, the president said that engineering plays a significant part in the development of technology and stated that engineering is now a profession of utmost importance. Draupadi Murmu went on to say, "The engineering profession gives us unthinkable and unprecedented solutions to problems and have the power to make the world a better place to live." 

She said, the nation is implementing new programmes in green energy, e-mobility, green hydrogen, and renewable energy that are delivering better outcomes on the ground and spurring technological advancements. She urged students to develop engineering solutions to enhance the living conditions of people, especially senior residents, members of underprivileged groups, and divyangs.
