Agartala: On Sunday, PM Narendra Modi transferred the first instalment of PM Awas Yojana- Gramin to more than 1.47 lakh beneficiaries of Tripura. Prime Minister Modi transferred money to the beneficiaries' accounts through video conferencing. More than Rs.700 crore was directly credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb is also participating in the function. Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh also attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, PM, Modi said, "It is our endeavour that the common man of the country does not have to wander for any scheme or snatch his money by any middleman''. He said, "Selection in a transparent manner, geo-tagging of houses, an announcement of names in Gram Sabha, fair survey and DBT are part of this thinking''. You will also remember the previous governments where there was no work without cutting culture.
Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi said, the first instalment under pm Awas Yojana today has also given a new impetus to Tripura's dreams. I extend my heartily greetings to about 1.5 lakh families, all the people of Tripura who have availed the benefit of the first instalment. He said, "Now, the thinking that keeps Tripura poor, keeping the people of Tripura away from amenities has no place in Tripura''. Now, here, the double engine government is working with all its might, with all sincerity, in the development of the state.
