Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez are set to meet today at Vadodara's historic Lukshmi Vilas Palace. The grand palace, renowned for hosting royal events and cultural gatherings, will provide an elegant backdrop for their discussions, with the meeting scheduled to take place in the famed Durbar Hall.
Following their talks, the two leaders will share a lunch featuring Gujarati and Spanish cuisine, offering a blend of both culinary traditions. The palace was constructed in the late 1800s by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, who was a prominent ruler of the Baroda region.
The itinerary of the Spanish prime minister’s visit includes a stop at Vadodara’s C-295 aircraft manufacturing facility. His visit is set to commence early Monday morning, followed by a 'Shobha Yatra' en route to the facility, beginning at approximately 10 a.m. This engagement highlights the close defense ties between India and Spain, strengthened by a significant contract between the Indian Ministry of Defence and Spain’s Airbus Defense and Space SA. As part of this contract, 56 C-295 aircraft will be delivered, with 40 of them assembled in India by Tata Advanced Systems Ltd.
