New Delhi: The case of the opening of the in-flight emergency door on a flight going from the country's capital Delhi to Bangalore has come to light. A 30-year-old passenger from Kanpur was arrested for trying to open the emergency exit. The accused, Prateek MiG-6, is a resident of Patrakarpuram, Kanpur.
On Friday, April 7, accused Prateek was travelling by flight number 6E-308. A police officer has informed that he was drunk and was sitting on seat number 18F, next to which is the emergency exit. An inebriated Prateek tried to open the emergency exit flap of the Indigo plane, the official said. A case has been registered under sections 290 and 336 of the IPC and section 11(a) of the Aircraft Act on the complaint of the cabin crew.
Indigo Airlines also said in an official statement that, on noticing this violation, the crew on board alerted the captain and the passenger was given a stern warning. No compromise was made on the safe operation of the said flight, and the unruly passenger was handed over to the CISF on arrival in Bengaluru. The accused has been arrested by the CISF. The airline said that strict action will be taken on any such act. All the rules for safety are being strictly followed.
