Vizianagaram: A tragic incident is coming to light from Andhra Pradesh in which a student from Vizianagaram, studying at Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (IIIT-Srikakulam), committed suicide in a hostel room on February 16. The college officials came to know about the incident when some young women noticed that the girl's room was locked from inside. The girl is said to have been worried because of her parents' insistence on attending offline classes. When the door was broken, the officers found her hanging from the fan.

According to the same media report, her parents had reportedly forced her to attend offline classes against her wishes. The girl who hanged herself is Kondapalli Manisha Anju, a resident of Nellimarala in Vizianagaram. She was a first-year girl from IIIT-Srikakulam. She had been participating in online matters since the beginning of the academic year.

Once the corona cases started decreasing, the college officials informed the students that all the students could continue online classes or start coming to offline classes. According to the report, after the student's desire to continue online classes, her parents insisted that she join the offline classes. On not agreeing, the parents dropped her off at her college IIIT-Srikakulam. Since then, the girl had been dampened. The same student, fed up with her parents, threw her mobile phone on the bus. Her parents bought a new mobile for her the next day. On Wednesday, some students noticed that her room was locked from inside and reported it to the college administration. On entering the same room, the police officers noticed that the girl was hanging from the fan. The case is now being investigated by the police.
