Then on Tuesday morning Mangal Bihari landed in Kalidah pond, about 20 feet deep, filled with mud and water. As soon as he saw it, he drowned. There were noisy scenes on the spot and the crowd gathered.
Police who reached the spot after receiving information arrested two associates of Mangal Bihari and sent them to the police station while another is absconding. Meanwhile, administrative officers and rescue teams later arrived. The rescue operation was carried out for several hours. The body of the youth has been recovered late at night. Action is now being taken against his friends.
