Dehradun: In order to ensure that the benefits of central and state government schemes reach the families of Uttarakhand directly, all the families of Uttarakhand are set to make unique identity cards compulsorily. A team of officers visited Haryana and reviewed the scheme to make a family identity card like the Haryana Family Identity Card Scheme.
There are currently 23 lakh families in the state. According to departmental officials, instructions in this regard will be issued soon after a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary. According to officials of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, the Family Identity Card Scheme has been started in Haryana. Where every family is being issued a 14-digit unique identity card. Through this, it is being decided that every resident of the state can get the benefit of any government scheme. On the lines of Haryana, this scheme is also set to be started in Uttarakhand. For this, a team of officers of the Food and Civil Supplies Department as well as some other departments has visited Haryana last month.
After studying the scheme in Haryana, it has been found satisfactory. Chief Secretary SS Sandhu has recently directed the Food and Civil Supplies Department to prepare a road map of the scheme and make the concerned departments a task force. Departments like IT, planning etc. have also been included in the scheme. In the case of a family identity card, the team of officers went to Haryana. The work related to identity cards was earlier entrusted to the Food and Civil Supplies Department, it was a good task for us, but now this work has been given to the Planning Department.
