Noida in Uttar Pradesh will soon have a new public transport system. According to The Uttar Pradesh Index, Yamuna Authority has approved India's first Pod Taxi project's revised Detail Project Report and bid document.
The Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Limited, a unit of the national government, said to have prepared the DPR for Pod Taxi. The valuation committee constituted for the Public-Private Partnership project of the government has also studied the DPR.
The committee recommended doing the investigation in nations where pod taxis are currently operating before approving the project. Once the Uttar Pradesh government has given its final approval, work will begin. The project should be finished by the end of 2024.
The project is expected to cost Rs. 810 crore. The Jewar airport in Noida will be connected to Film City via the pod taxi. Early projections indicate that 37,000 commuters will be able to use Pod Taxis every day.
The industrial zone will be connected by the pod taxi that runs between Film City and Jewar Airport. It will include 12 stations, including Sector 29, the Handicraft Park, the MSME Park, the Apparel Park, the Toy Park, the Sectors 32 and 33, and so on.
The Yamuna Authority received the operating report of the pod taxis from three different countries on Wednesday from the Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Limited.
