New Delhi: Phase-2 police on Tuesday busted a gang that lured people into honeytraps and befriended them through the App, adjoining Noida, Delhi. The accused used to commit the crime by making them unconscious. Police have arrested three persons, including two women, who were part of the gang. The police have recovered the looted goods from the people from the possession of the accused. On Tuesday, the police team produced the arrested accused before the court from where they have been put in jail in judicial custody.
ADCP Elamaran of Noida Central Zone said that the police team had received information that a gang was befriending people through the app and committing robberies. On Tuesday, a police team arrested three persons, including two women, from near Bhangel Labour Chowk. The arrested accused have been identified as Vinod, a resident of Vijaynagar, Ghaziabad, Pooja Sharma of Muradnagar and Poonam Mehto of Uttam Nagar, Delhi. Two accomplices of the accused are said to be absconding. Police teams are searching for them. Both will be arrested soon.
According to the police, the arrested accused used to befriend people through the Tinder app. They later robbed them. Police have recovered a gold ring, gold chain and a gold coin worth about one lakh 75 thousand rupees from the arrested accused. Along with this, two silver glasses, silver coin, artificial goods, Aadhaar card, 10 credits of various banks, debit cards, four mobiles, 60 sleeping pills, powder crushed in a puddle and Rs 4200 have been found.
