Mumbai: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at multiple locations in the ISIS Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar module case on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of one terror suspect. The operation targeted individuals allegedly involved in a conspiracy to target vital installations.

Raids were carried out at the residences of several suspects across nine locations in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (formerly Aurangabad), Maharashtra. During these raids, NIA teams seized numerous electronic devices and incriminating documents related to the case. The arrested individual has been identified as Mohammed Zoheb Khan. The NIA Mumbai unit had registered a case against Khan based on intelligence indicating his allegiance to the ISIS Khalifa and involvement in plans to target various establishments.

The anti-terror agency has alleged that the group was also engaged in radicalizing and recruiting susceptible youth, both physically and through social media, to join ISIS and propagate its violent ideology. According to NIA investigations, the accused and other suspects maintained constant communication with foreign-based handlers to advance the activities of the global terror network, both domestically and internationally. They were found sharing incriminating videos of ‘Bayath,’ along with materials related to violent jihad and Hijrah to Syria.

The investigations into the case are ongoing.
