On Sunday, Meghalaya logged 211 new COVID-19 cases but no deaths. Meanwhile, in the previous 24 hours, the State has recovered 74 additional instances. The total number of cases recovered now stands at 83,740.
The number of active cases has risen to 1,128, according to a Health Department statement. As of now, 1,490 people have died due to of COVID-19.
East Khasi Hills has the highest number of active cases with 886. West Khasi Hills has 16 cases, East Garo Hills has three cases, West Garo Hills has 95 cases, Ri-Bhoi has 63 cases, West Jaintia Hills has 21 cases, East Jaintia Hills has 24 cases, South West Khasi Hills has nine cases, South Garo Hills has three cases, and North Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills have four cases each. The 211 new COVID-19 cases are from East Khasi Hills (163), East Jaintia Hills (14), Ri-Bhoi (four), West Jaintia Hills (five), West Garo Hills (18), North Garo Hills (two), West Khasi Hills (three), and South West Garo Hills and East Garo Hills (one each). The 74 recovered cases are from East Khasi Hills (59), Ri-Bhoi (two), West Garo Hills (12) and West Jaintia Hills (one).
