Jaipur: In a tragic incident in Rajasthan's Dungarpur district, a 22-year-old MBBS student, Sudhanshi Singh, reportedly died by suicide by jumping from the third floor of the Dungarpur Medical College hostel. Sudhanshi Singh was in her first year of pursuing MBBS and lived alone in her hostel room. Head Constable Popatlal reported the incident, stating that her mortal remains were moved to a mortuary, and her family members are expected to arrive at the scene. An autopsy will be conducted on her body as part of the investigation.
In a separate, unrelated incident, an IIT Kharagpur student named K Kiran Chandra was found hanging in his hostel room. He was a fourth-year student of electrical engineering and resided in the Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Hall of Residence on the IIT Kharagpur campus. Chandra was with two roommates in his hostel room until 7:30 PM on the day of his demise, after which his roommates left. At around 8:30 PM, other students noticed that his room was locked from the inside and made efforts to open it.
When the door was finally opened, they found Chandra hanging inside his room. He was immediately rushed to the BC Roy Technology Hospital for medical attention, but despite the efforts of the medical staff, he was declared dead around 11:30 PM.
