Dehradun: Health Minister Mansukh Mandviya has virtually laid the foundation stone of four majour  health projects in Dehradun which consists of 500 bedded Hospital at New Block in Doon Medical College, Dehradun, and 3 nos 50 bedded Critical Care Blocks at Rudraprayag, Nainital and Srinagar.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, Dhan Singh Rawat, the state's minister of health, Ganesh Joshi, the agriculture and rural development minister, Rajya Laxmi Shah, and Naresh Bansal, a member of parliament from Uttarakhand, were also present at the ceremony in Dehradun.

Dr. Mandaviya visited the Malari village in Chamoli district earlier on Thursday to review the Vibrant Village Program and other development initiatives in Malari and the neighbourhood. He also visited the Jan Aushadi Kendra in Dehradun and spoke with the beneficiaries and staff there before leaving for Malari.

The Uttarakhand government is accelerating the construction of 14 critical care blocks, 7 of which are being built under the PM-ABHIM scheme and 7 under ECRP-II, according to the Union Health Minister, who praised the state's dedication to the health sector.

"By implementing these efforts, the general population living in remote sections of the mountainous region will have easy access to superior health facilities for emergency care." he said. He also expressed gratitude for the effort ITBP agents put forth on borders under trying conditions.

Dr Mandaviya wrote onTwitter, "Got an opportunity to spend time in the camp at Malari village and interacted with the jawans. ITBP personnel are deployed in our defence in the most difficult of circumstances. I salute the hard work and sacrifice of these soldiers. Jai Hind!".

While visiting Uttarakhand, Union Minister Mandaviya took part in the state's Pushkar Singh Dhami's foundation-laying ceremony for a number of health-related programmes.
