After the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, West Bengal's Mamata Banerjee government and Kolkata Police are on target. Public anger is increasing over this matter and many questions are being raised on the working style of the government.

1. Trying to suppress the matter

On the day of the incident, the police and the government described the case as a suicide, while the postmortem report revealed that the doctor had been raped and murdered. The doctor's parents had to wait for more than three hours to see their daughter's body, and were also pressured by the police to conduct the funeral in a hurry.

2. Negligence in investigation and question on compensation

From the very beginning, the investigation into the case showed many flaws. A page of the victim's diary was missing, raising suspicion that it might have contained some important information. Mamata Banerjee announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the victim's family, which the victim's father called insulting.

3. Construction work at the crime scene

In the seminar hall, where the incident with the trainee doctor took place, masonry work was started immediately after the incident. A part of the bathroom wall was also broken, due to which it is suspected that an attempt was made to destroy evidence.

4. Promotion instead of action against the principal

After the incident, RG Kar Medical College Principal Sandip Ghosh resigned from his post, but no action was taken against him. Instead, he was promoted to a senior post at Kolkata's National Medical College. Ghosh was the first to call the incident a case of suicide.

5. Vandalism in medical college

On the night of August 14, when doctors and others were protesting against the incident, the mob vandalised the RG Kar Medical College. The police did not take any concrete action and kept watching the spectacle silently.

6. Action against critics

The Mamata Banerjee government also took action against those who criticized the matter. Attempts were made to suppress the questions raised in the media and social media. According to the report, a total of 280 people from West Bengal and other states were issued notices and some have also been arrested. This incident has raised serious questions on the working style of Mamata Banerjee's government and the police. People's anger is increasing and the Supreme Court has also reprimanded the government in this matter. All eyes are on further investigation and action.
