Kochi: The Kerala High Court has flatly refused to stay the release of 'The Kerala Story', a film based on alleged jihad, religious conversion and terrorism. Not only this, the court has also said that there is nothing objectionable against any particular community in the trailer of the film. However, the filmmaker has assured the court that the controversial teaser, which claims "over 32,000 women from Kerala have joined terrorist organization ISIS", will be removed from social media.
Let us tell you that the film The Kerala Story has been released today i.e. on Friday in theaters across the country. The film depicts the story of girls who wanted to become nurses. But, trapped in the cycle of Jihad and conversion, she became an ISIS terrorist. There is a lot of controversy regarding this film. Some people are also raising the demand to ban the film. For this, former Congress leader and veteran lawyer Kapil Sibal had also filed a petition in the Supreme Court. But, the Supreme Court dismissed it and asked the petitioners to approach the High Court.
After this, 5 petitions were filed in the Kerala High Court. A petition was also filed by the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML). It was said in the petition that words like brain wash, love jihad, hijab and ISIS have been used in the trailer of 'The Kerala Story', this film is against Muslims. In the petition, there was a demand to ban the release of 'The Kerala Story'. The High Court heard this on Friday. The court saw both the teaser and the trailer of the film in the open court and said that there is nothing objectionable to the particular community in it. The court said that an authority like CBFC has examined the film and found it fit for release. The court said that this film is not against Muslims or Islam, but against ISIS. The court also said that in many films, Hindu ascetics have been shown in characters like gangster-smugglers, but no problem has arisen.
What did the filmmaker say on the figure of 32000 girls: –
Let us tell you that the makers of the film have removed the controversial teaser from the social media, which claimed that 'more than 32,000 women from Kerala have joined the terrorist organization ISIS', but they say that the number of girls who became victims in this way is 50,000. Now since it has to be proved in the court, they thought it appropriate to remove that fact. But, filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah has given a separate answer to this, saying that the Hindu helpline is an institution. He has issued a statement that, in just 10 years, 14000 cases have come to him. They have stopped 8500 girls from leaving by convincing them, could not stop 5500 girls. This is his claim. Mentioning another organization, Vipul Shah has said that that organization has rescued 6000 girls in 10 years. We cannot reveal more due to court restrictions.
