Gwalior: A 60-year-old man allegedly opened fire on people who came to mourn the death of his grandson in a village under the Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh, injuring six people. Utila police station in-charge Surjit Singh Parmar said on Saturday that the incident took place in Bandoli village, about 30 kilometers from the district headquarters, on Friday. The accused Uday Singh Parihar escaped after the incident and police are on the lookout for him.

He said Uday Singh Parihar's 12-year-old grandson Sahil had died on Friday morning after drowning in a pond. Some people had then rushed to the house of avoidance to mourn. He was already having a fight with some of these neighbors. The police officer informed that the family was furious to see the men and fired with his gun to drive them away from the house.

Six people were injured in the incident. Parihar fled the spot after the incident. He said the injured have been admitted to a hospital in Gwalior for treatment. The condition of all the injured is out of danger. The body has been sent for postmortem. A case is being registered against the accused and a search is on for him.
