Lucknow: Three thieves have been arrested for allegedly stealing from a temple in Uttar Pradesh's Agra. The arrested accused have been identified as Rizwan Qureshi, Shahrukh and Imran. Rizwan, who was arrested, is also said to be a member of the minority morcha of a political party. The police have also recovered the stolen items from the possession of the thieves. It also includes bells, aarti lamps and Sheshnag. The incident took place on Wednesday (November 9, 2022). All three were arrested on Friday (November 11).
According to the report, the incident took place in the Lohamandi police station area. Hemant Kumar Prajapati, a local resident, has complained about the theft in the temple. In his complaint, he said that on the morning of November 9, the lock of the main gate of Shri Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple on bridge Chhinga Modi was found broken. According to Hemant, goods were scattered on the floor of the temple at that time. At the same time, priest Tarun Sharma is also said to be present on the spot. When they went inside and saw that a lot of the temple items had been stolen.
According to the complainant, the police were informed after seeing the condition of the temple. According to the complaint, when checked inside the temple, the money kept in the donation box, the bells and hours of the lamp performing the aarti, the idol of Sheshnag of yellow metal, the lamp, the electric drum used in performing the aarti, 2 buckets, fan and the statue of Kali Maa were found missing. In his complaint, Hemant Kumar had asked the police to take strict action against unidentified thieves in the case.
