Mumbai: On July 12, 2024, singer Lucky Ali made headlines with a provocative social media post in which he expressed feelings of isolation for being a Muslim. In his post, he lamented that following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad has become a matter of loneliness and that Muslims face hostility and are labeled as terrorists.

When a commenter challenged Lucky Ali, questioning whether only Muslims are fortunate and whether non-believers are cursed and destined for hell, Lucky Ali responded by asserting that Allah is the only true God. He suggested that disbelief in Allah would preclude one from receiving Allah’s blessings, emphasizing that there is no other deity besides Allah according to his beliefs.

This response led to criticism from many quarters. Some compared his statements to those of Maulana Zakir Naik, who is known for his controversial views and is wanted in connection with spreading terrorism. The criticism intensified, with some calling for Lucky Ali to retire from the public eye.

This is not the first time Lucky Ali has been accused of radical thinking. Previously, he had expressed a desire to travel to Palestine following an attack by Hamas on Israel. He also faced backlash for an earlier claim that the name Brahma originates from Ibrahim and that Brahmins are descendants of Ibrahim, which led him to issue an apology.
