VIJAYAWADA: In the last three years, Andhra Pradesh has received investments of Rs 46,280 crore through large industries, said Chief Minister Jagan Reddy, who spoke in the state assembly on Monday. A total of 99 heavy industries have begun operations.
He said, these industries have employed up to 62,541 people, and another 40,000 will do so soon. Andhra Pradesh outperformed the other states in the ease of doing business index, growing by 11.74 percent. The bulk narcotics park project was up for grabs among 17 states, but AP prevailed. This occurred even while the Telugu Desam protested the construction of the park in Andhra Pradeshin letters to the Centre, he claimed.
In summarising a brief talk on Industries and Investments, Jagan said that the Bulk Drugs Park anticipated for Kakinada will create employment opportunities for over 35,000 people. "While we were able to get the $1 billion project, we took all necessary precautions to treat the effluent."
Telangana and Maharashtra had been protesting to the Center about not being able to get the project, he claimed. However, Chandrababu Naidu and his men have been working to make false propaganda spread about AP in an effort to discredit AP. With an investment of 46,280 crore over the last three years, 99 companies have launched in the state, creating 62,541 jobs. Through four PSUs of the central government that would shortly be established in Andhra Pradesh, almost 40,000 additional jobs could be created. Ten key industries are being discussed, and four CPSUs, including HPCL, ONGC, and BEL, have expressed interest.
The chief minister claimed that despite the altered scoring system, in which only industrialists now award points, the state has been performing well in terms of ease of doing business (EoDB). According to him, investments began to flow "since we could give entrepreneurs confidence and provide openness." He claimed that as a result, leading business families like the Tatas, Birlas, and Adanis have begun to consider investing in Andhra Pradesh.
"We have promoted MSMEs by providing incentives," Jagan said . Just this industry alone supports 12 lakh employment. We have also paid the TD government's debt in full. Aside from that, we have promoted important businesses through incentives and prioritised self-help organisations under various programmes.
The YSR Electronic Manufacturing Cluster, the upcoming Kopparthi Mega Industrial Hub, and the Jammalamadugu Steel Plant, among others, would give locals work and raise their standard of living, according to the chief minister. Through skill development, the state is, in the meantime, preparing the youth for the workforce, he claimed.
The state might receive approvals for three industrial corridors, he claimed. While 34,108 jobs were created during the previous administration, 6.13 lakh jobs have been created in the last three years under our government.
