Panaji: P.S. Sreedharan Pillai was sworn in as the Governor of Goa on Thursday. He replaced Bhagat Singh Koshyari, who was holding additional charge of Maharashtra as well as the Governor of Goa. Bombay High Court Chief Justice Dipankar Dutta administered the oath of office and secrecy to Pillai at Raj Bhavan. Goa CM Pramod Sawant was also present on the occasion.
It may be recalled that Koshyari had been holding additional charge of the Governor of Goa since August 2020 after the transfer of Satyapal Malik. Talking to the press after the swearing-in ceremony, CM Sawant welcomed the new governor and said that under his guidance various issues of the state will be resolved. Tell you that Pillai had earlier served as the Governor of Mizoram and has now been transferred to Goa. Goa is scheduled to go to assembly elections in February next year.
Just a few days ago, governors were appointed in many states, while governors of many states were transferred. Which was also sealed by President Ram Nath Kovind. Under this approval, four states have been transferred to four states where new governors have been found.
