Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the inaugural Bodoland Mahotsav in Delhi on November 15, a two-day cultural event aimed at highlighting the language, literature, and rich cultural heritage of the Bodo community. The celebration will take place at the SAI Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, focusing on promoting unity, peace, and a stronger bond within the Bodo community. This event will also serve as a platform to connect Bodo communities across Assam, West Bengal, Nepal, and other northeastern border regions.
In addition, PM Modi is scheduled to launch the Pradhan Mantri Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, a nationwide initiative for rural upliftment, from Jamui district in Bihar. This launch coincides with the 150th birth anniversary of the revered tribal leader Birsa Munda, underscoring the government’s commitment to tribal development and empowerment.
Prime Minister Modi is also expected to attend a special event in Odisha’s Rourkela to honor Birsa Munda’s enduring legacy as a freedom fighter and tribal icon. While the Odisha visit awaits final confirmation, the state’s Panchayati Raj Minister has expressed hope for the occasion, which will be observed as Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas, or Tribal Pride Day, in tribute to Munda's contributions.
The Prime Minister’s Bihar visit, scheduled for today, will include a commemorative event in Jamui district, approximately 200 km from Patna, in recognition of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, marking the 150th anniversary of Birsa Munda.
