Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport has been honored with the prestigious Excellence Award by the Quality Circle Forum of India at the recent National Convention on Quality Concepts 2024 held in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
According to a statement released on Saturday, January 27, the airport clinched the award for its consistent efforts towards enhancing airport operations through continuous improvement initiatives.
The award ceremony, graced by Union Minister for Roads and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, highlighted the significance of the airport's accomplishments.
The Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI) is renowned for its representation of the Quality Circle Movement within the country and its participation in various international platforms.
The jury commended Thiruvananthapuram Airport for its effective measures in maintaining obstacle-free Obstacle Limitation Surfaces (OLS) to ensure safe aircraft operations. Also, the airport's sustainability initiatives aimed at preserving biodiversity were also lauded.
In another feat, last year in November end, the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport also received the esteemed Environmental Excellence Award at the 23rd Annual Greentech Environment Awards ceremony held in Jammu and Kashmir. The Greentech Environment Award recognizes exceptional efforts in environmental conservation, honoring individuals, teams, units, projects, and organizations for their dedicated contributions.
