Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is on the cusp of welcoming its third Vande Bharat Express, and all signs point to its inauguration coinciding with the festive splendor of Deepavali. This eagerly anticipated rail service aims to alleviate the weekend rush while fostering vital connectivity between the picturesque landscapes of Kerala and the bustling metropolises of Chennai and Bengaluru.

This initiative, put forth by Southern Railway, is currently under the careful consideration of the Railway Board, signaling a promising addition to the region's transportation network.

The proposed service schedule appears to revolve around Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, catering to the needs of weekend travelers. As per the preliminary details, the Vande Bharat Express will embark on its journey from Chennai on Thursday night, gracefully traversing the tracks to arrive in Bengaluru by the early hours of Friday. By noon, it will make its way to Ernakulam, offering convenient access to one of Kerala's most vibrant cities. After a brief pause, the train will recommence its journey toward Bengaluru, arriving in the city by nightfall. From Bengaluru, its path will lead back to Chennai, thus completing the circular route. This new Vande Bharat Express is expected to comprise a total of eight well-appointed coaches, ensuring a comfortable and efficient travel experience for passengers.

It's worth noting that the Vande Bharat Express project gained significant momentum after its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kerala on April 25. Since then, the train has been operating at full capacity along the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod-Thiruvananthapuram route, effectively meeting the ever-increasing demand for efficient and modern railway services. In response to this success, Kerala was honored with the allocation of an additional Vande Bharat Express on the same route, making it the sole state in the nation with the privilege of hosting two of these cutting-edge trains on the same track.

As anticipation builds for the arrival of the third Vande Bharat Express in Kerala, this development promises to enhance both travel convenience and accessibility for those seeking to explore the scenic wonders of Kerala or embark on business and leisure trips to Chennai and Bengaluru.
