Thiruvananthapuram: Amidst the turmoil of the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, a Kerala native working as a caregiver in Israel found herself caught in the crossfire and sustained injuries.

The injured woman, identified as Sheeja Anand, aged 41, had been diligently serving a family in Israel for the past seven years. However, her life took a harrowing turn when a rocket attack struck her vicinity during the escalating conflict.

Concerned about her safety, Sheeja managed to reach out to her family back in Kerala shortly after the hostilities erupted in Israel. In her initial contact, she reassured them of her safety. Sadly, during her second call, her conversation with her family abruptly disconnected, leaving them anxious and worried.

Later in the day, the Anand family received a call from another Indian citizen hailing from Kerala. This individual conveyed the distressing news that Sheeja had indeed been injured in the rocket attack and had undergone surgery. However, the unsettling news didn't end there; Sheeja was to be transferred to another hospital for further medical procedures. The Anand family is currently awaiting more detailed updates on her condition.

Back in India, Sheeja's husband and their two children anxiously await her recovery and safe return.
