Kochi: The Kerala Police is set to bring Dominic Martin before the court today in connection with his suspected involvement in the Kalamassery bomb blast that occurred last Sunday. Martin was apprehended by the Kochi Police at 7 p.m. on Monday, following the posting of a self-confession video on Facebook.

In their ongoing investigation, the police have transported Dominic Martin to his residence in Athani, Ernakulam, with the aim of gathering additional evidence.

Kerala police officials have stated, "Martin is facing charges under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act), Explosive Act, as well as sections 302 and 307. The arrest was officially recorded at 7 p.m. yesterday, and he will be brought before the court today."

While their investigation has suggested that Martin acted alone in the explosion, the Kerala police are also actively probing for potential accomplices. They shared, "We are currently looking into the possibility of additional individuals being connected to this incident."

As the police investigation unfolds, they remain cautious not to prematurely draw conclusions about the nature of the blast. Their immediate priority is to present the suspect Dominic Martin in court, secure his remand, and then conduct a comprehensive interrogation.

In the course of their inquiry, the police will accompany Dominic Martin to the locations where he allegedly procured materials for manufacturing explosives. Furthermore, they will also take him to the convention center associated with the incident.

Dominic Martin turned himself in, claiming responsibility for the multiple explosions that occurred in the Ernakulum district during a religious prayer event held at the Zamra International Convention Centre in Kalamassery. This event had brought together over 2,000 followers of Jehovah's Witnesses, a Christian sect, for a prayer meeting last Sunday.

The twin blasts transpired during a Jehovah's Witnesses prayer gathering in the Kalamassery area of Kochi around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. Tragically, the death toll from the explosions at the Zamra International Convention and Exhibition Centre has now risen to three, as a 12-year-old girl, identified as Libina from Malayattoor, succumbed to her injuries in the early hours of Monday.
