Wayanad: The Kerala government announced on Tuesday that it will soon release a full list of individuals who went missing after the devastating landslides in Wayanad district on July 30. Revenue Minister K. Rajan confirmed that the list is currently being compiled, with the goal of ensuring comprehensive support and rehabilitation for all affected residents.
Rajan, who recently visited the landslide-affected areas of Chooralmala and Mundakkai, emphasized that the government’s rehabilitation efforts would set a global standard. "Our approach to rehabilitation goes beyond just providing land and houses. It includes addressing every aspect of life, from the care of breastfeeding children to the needs of the elderly. We are committed to ensuring the complete safety and well-being of all survivors," he said.
In response to the ongoing search efforts, rescue operations continued on Tuesday as teams from the Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), police, dog squads, forest department, and Navy worked together to locate the missing persons. A special search operation has been initiated in the remote areas between Soochippara and Pothukallu. A dedicated team of 12 personnel from the Army and forest department, transported by helicopter, has been deployed for this critical mission. The search had been delayed due to challenging weather conditions.
