Kochi: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, labeling him as a non-serious and immature politician. Vijayan stated that Rahul Gandhi's absence during crucial political developments in the country reflected his lack of seriousness. He also accused Gandhi of immaturity for supporting central investigation agencies during the general election campaign.
Vijayan's comments came as a response to Rahul Gandhi's questioning of why Vijayan was not being investigated by central agencies despite various scandals involving his government. Refusing to criticize LDF MLA PV Anvar's remarks about examining Rahul Gandhi's DNA, Vijayan emphasized that one must face strong backlash for their words and actions. Anvar had earlier stated that Rahul Gandhi's behavior was so unbecoming that he had lost the right to use the Gandhi surname. He argued that someone born into the Nehru-Gandhi family should not behave like Rahul.
Furthermore, Vijayan condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comments about the Muslim community during an election rally in Rajasthan's Banswara. He described Modi's remarks as defamatory and aimed at communal polarization. Modi had alleged that the Congress manifesto talked about redistributing wealth to Muslims. Vijayan criticized Modi for using communalism for political gain, stating that it was detrimental to the country's democratic and secular values.
