Dehradun: The weather has started changing rapidly in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. There is rain and snowfall in some areas, while in some areas there are chances of rain between sunshine and clouds. On the other hand, due to the increase in temperature in the plains, cold is not being felt during the day, there is mild cold in the evening and morning. Clouds are being seen here and there throughout the day. The cold has almost gone away from the national capital Delhi. 

Snowfall is continuing since yesterday in the higher hilly areas including Kedarnath and Badrinath. There has been snowfall in many areas of Kedarnath Dham, Badrinath Dham, and Lahaul Spiti of Himachal on Friday. It is still snowing in many areas today. There has been snowfall in Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib, and Gaurso. There was light rain in Chamoli. It was partly cloudy in Dehradun on Saturday morning, however, as the day progressed, the sun shone again. Due to rain in Mussoorie and Chakrata, the cold has increased. 

According to the Meteorological Department, light rain and snowfall are expected in many areas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh today and tomorrow. There is a possibility of partial cloudy sky and light showers in the surrounding areas including Dehradun. For the past several days, rain and snowfall had stopped in the state, but since Friday, snowfall in the high peaks has increased the cold. Due to the activation of the western disturbance, the weather pattern in the state may change. According to Meteorological Center Director Bikram Singh, there may be cloudy skies in the mountainous areas in Uttarakhand today and tomorrow. There may be rain and hailstorm along with thunderstorms at some places. There is also a possibility of snowfall on the peaks in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh.
