Dehradun: The portals of the Kedarnath Dham will be opened for all worshippers on 25 April, officials said on Wednesday, April 5.

The Kedarnath yatra is set to begin on April 25. "Along with walking, devotees will also be able to reach Kedarnath Dham by helicopter,'" the officials added.

In order to make it easier for pilgrims who are flying to Kedarnath Dham, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has been given permission to accept online reservations. As per the Uttarakhand Tourist Development Board, 6.34 lakh pilgrims have signed up for the next Chardham Yatra.

"More than 6.34 lakh pilgrims have signed up for the Char Dham Yatra till now. There have been 2.41 lakh registrations for Kedarnath Dham, 2.01 lakh for Badrinath Dham, 95,107 for Yamanotri, and 96,449 for Gangotri Dham out of this total "According to the Uttarakhand Tourist Development Council.

Chief Minister Dhami said, "During the Chardham Yatra, a health ATM will be set up for medical examinations. With this facility, the devotees will get a lot of conveniences. This would be a good step for the strengthening of medical facilities on the Char Dham Yatra route."

The Rudraprayag district administration had earlier on March 11 begun making plans for the Chardham Yatra, which is scheduled to start on April 22.

One of the most well-known Hindu pilgrimages in India is the Chardham Yatra, which is held in Uttarakhand.
This pilgrimage is a tour of 4 holy sites namely Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri - nestled high up in the Himalayas.

The high-altitude shrines are closed for about six months each year, starting in the spring (April or May) and ending as winter approaches (October or November).

The Yamunotri and Gangotri temples will open on April 22, signalling the start of the Chardham Yatra. Kedarnath will open on April 25 and Badrinath on April 27.
