Dehradun: A shocking incident has come to light from the Mangalore Kotwali area of the Haridwar district of Uttarakhand. Here a mother eloped with her lover 10 days before her daughter's marriage. Not only this, but before eloping with her lover, the woman also took away the jewelery prepared for her daughter's wedding. The matter came to light when the family members reached the police station.

In fact, Rama (name changed) (38), a woman from the Mangalore Kotwali area, eloped with her lover Rahul (name changed) in the midst of preparations for her daughter's wedding. Along with this, she also took away the jewelery worth lakhs of rupees kept in the house for marriage. Women and youth used to work together in a company. It was learned that the woman's husband had passed away a year back. The woman has 3 children (one son and 3 daughters). It has been told that the marriage of the elder daughter is to be held on December 14, due to which the preparations for weddings were going on in full swing in the house. The arrival of the guests had also started. Wedding invitations have also been sent to most of the relatives. On Saturday night, leaving the family, the woman suddenly went missing under suspicious circumstances.

On the basis of suspicion, information was collected about that young man (boyfriend of the woman) and he was also found absconding from the house. Lakhs of rupees and jewelery were also found missing during the search of the house. The matter reached the police on Sunday. Police have started an investigation into the matter. In this whole incident, SHO of Mangalore Kotwali Rajeev Rauthan said, the youth and the woman had fled on Saturday night. The marriage of the woman's daughter is on 14 December. She also ran away with the jewelery made for her daughter's wedding. Both the woman and the youth used to work together in the factory and both had to visit each other's houses. Police suspect that both have eloped from home and got married. Kotwal Rajeev Rauthan told that the search for both has been started and soon both will be caught.
