Chhindwara: Madhya Pradesh minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kailash Vijayvargiya has criticized veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh's suggestion to conduct voting through ballots, asserting that Singh should focus on retaining his Rajgarh seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Digvijaya Singh recently announced his plan to encourage 400 people to file nominations from his constituency to facilitate voting via ballot papers.

Responding to Singh's proposal, Vijayvargiya remarked to the media in Chhindwara, "Digvijaya Singh should prioritize saving his Rajgarh seat... He lacks a strong position and appears to seek sympathy by engaging in activities like walking barefoot in his constituency wearing traditional attire."

Singh disclosed his strategy during a street meeting at Kachnaria village in Rajgarh, outlining the process for conducting elections through ballot papers. He explained that if 400 candidates contest from one seat, elections will be conducted using ballot papers, underscoring his efforts to achieve this outcome.

Furthermore, Singh detailed the security deposit requirements for candidates, indicating that those outside reserved categories must deposit Rs 25,000, while SC/ST candidates must deposit Rs 12,500. He expressed confidence in winning the election, citing public dissatisfaction with the current government.

The Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh are slated to occur in the first four phases, on April 19, April 26, May 7, and May 13. Rajgarh will vote in the third phase on May 7, alongside seven other parliamentary seats in the state.
