The process of online registration for counselling on behalf of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority commences on 6th October. Candidates who have succeeded in JEE advance exam can register online at josaa.nic.in for Josa counselling. JoSAA conducts counselling process for admission to all centrally aided technical institutions including IITs, NITs, Triple IT, IIEST across the country.
The joint seat allocation authority has recently announced some major changes in the admission process this year. According to an official statement issued by JoSAA, only six rounds of seats will be made in the year 2020. However, for the last three years, seven rounds of seat allotment have been done. Further, the Authority has clarified that the admission process before Diwali is over and the new academic session can be started at the earliest.
In addition, this year, the authority has decided to get away from physical reporting in view of the corona pandemic. Candidates will have to confirm their admission by submitting the necessary documents online. Candidates should note that they can check the list of courses on the official portal which are being offered for online filling up for admission in the academic year of IIT 2020-21. The registration process will run from 6th to 15th October. Thereafter, the first mock seat allotment will be on 11th October.
