New Delhi: Violence erupted in Jahangirpuri, the national capital, on the day of Hanuman's birth anniversary on Saturday. Now Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana has told that so far 23 people have been arrested in this case. Out of these, there are 8 people who have been accused in one or the other case in the past. Not only this, Asthana said, there will be an investigation from every angle in this matter, no one directly or indirectly involved in this violence will be spared. When Rakesh Asthana was asked whether the violence in Jahangirpuri broke out after the saffron flag was hoisted over the mosque, he said that there is no truth in this.
The dispute started over a minor issue. Later it turned into violence. Rakesh Asthana said that 9 people have been injured in the violence, including 8 policemen. This shows that the police separated the two sides. Due to this, civilians were not harmed. Not only this, when Asthana was asked whether the action being taken in the Jahangirpuri violence case was one-sided. So he replied that, 'No.. people from both the sides involved in the violence have been arrested.' Rakesh Asthana further said that the crime branch is investigating in this matter. 14 teams of crime branch have been formed. These teams have started investigation. He said that analysis is being done. Investigation is being done from every angle. Efforts will be made that any of the accused, whether directly or indirectly involved in violence, could not escape.
He said that the analysis of digital evidence is being done. Whoever is involved in this matter, strict legal action will be taken against them. Delhi Police Commissioner Asthana said that some people want through social media that the atmosphere should not improve. In such a situation, we are keeping an eye on social media. Such people are being identified, who are spreading rumours, spreading false information, action will also be taken against them. He said that the public should not pay heed to the rumours. If you need any information, then you can directly contact the Police Control Room. He told that along with this investigation, the police has held a meeting with 20 peace committees. We are trying to create a peaceful atmosphere in sensitive areas through the Peace Committee. Apart from Jahangirpuri, security forces have been deployed in other sensitive areas. Until the situation becomes normal. Officers will be on the spot.
